Architecture practice

Halden Studio

A quiet portfolio system for an architecture studio, built around light, plans and long captions.

White concrete hall with a thin stair rail

The brief

Halden is a six-person architecture practice whose best work lived in PDFs and award entries. They wanted a site that reads like their buildings feel: quiet, exact and full of light, without turning every project into a slideshow.

The work

We built the site around the drawing set. Every project opens on a plan, then moves through photographs in the order a visitor would walk the building. Captions are long on purpose; the type does the decorating.

A system the studio runs

Projects, people and texts live in the CMS, so the team publishes a finished building in an afternoon. The grid, image ratios and caption styles are fixed, which keeps every new entry consistent with the last.

Outcome

The site launched with twelve projects and is now the first thing the studio sends to new clients. Two competition invitations came through it in the first year.
