The brief

Ondo makes one product: a sculptural desktop speaker turned from a single block of aluminium. The launch site and companion app had to feel as considered as the object on the desk.

The work

The site is built like a listening session. Scrolling slows the page down, sound samples start only when asked, and the product photography is lit the way the speaker sounds: warm in the middle, crisp at the edges.

Companion app

The app has three screens and no settings page. Volume, source and room tuning live on one surface, and the tuning curve is drawn in the same line weight as the product drawings.

Outcome

The first production run sold out before shipping, and the app holds a rating its makers are slightly embarrassed about.
