Case study

Design system

Tessera

A component library and token system shared by four product teams and two brands.

The brief

Tessera is the shared design system behind four product teams and two brands. Each team had forked the components, and no two buttons behaved alike.

The work

We rebuilt the system on semantic tokens, so both brands share one component library and differ only in their token sets. Every component ships with design, code and documentation together.

Docs people read

The documentation site leads with examples and real product screens, not prop tables. Each page answers when to use a component before it explains how.

Outcome

All four teams now build from the same library, and a new brand theme can be produced in days rather than a quarter.
